Well the Christmas and New Years season is over. The Inn was busy. As always I reflected on the year, my family being absent and life in general.
Unless we cannot travel for some reason next Christmas, Casey and I will be going to Australia. Without a doubt. It has been 5 years since I spent Christmas with my family. The last being in Des Moines with Hayden and Karissa. I really miss my good friends in Australia and of course family.
We spent a lot of time with our good friends Abby and Katie, or should that be Abigail and Katherine (I made note of that more for myself than anything). Their son Beckett turned 11 months the other day. A do not think a more perfect baby exists. Hayden was great at that age but I think Beckett appears, to the outsider at least, to be a little angel.
Next New Years if we are in Australia I think Sydney would be great. Get a hotel overlooking the harbor bridge and have some fun. The year I did that with Clo was quite memorable.
Casey got me a great present. Something I wanted but would not buy for myself. A very beautiful wine decanter, with an exquisite funnel made of pewter. I got Casey a fancy camera bag and flash for the camera equipment. She is such a keen amateur photographer and I would like to see her progress in skill, albeit for my own reasons as well.
