It is amazing how time goes fast. It has been four weeks since the boys were born. A weird chasm of time where nothing is perfect but some things are near that. I feel closer to Casey than ever before. It is a nice feeling when you thought you could not get any closer before. everything was so great and fun.
There was some stress, there still is, but now it is petty things that simply are going to be eliminated from life. simple things where if people do not want to take my expert opinion, then I am no longer needed. I will simply take myself myself out of the situation. It will be their loss. I am mainly talking about the WBBG. I warned them of problems with a contracted 6 months ago. It has never got better, and I am no longer willing to put up with the crap. I take it too personally, but that is me.
We have been walking a little more often, still not enough. It is good to be outside. At the same time playing the online game Lord of the Rings with real life friend Janice has been a great escape from thought. It is fun too.
My role as committee person on the Lodging Tax Committee ramps up next week, interviewing and reviewing over ten applications. My influence will be made over $300K of funds that can be used to improve events and the hospitality industry in Olympia.
We got the dollar amount on the extension that we are doing. It is not as urgent now that the boys won’t get to enjoy it, but my family is still coming in January and we hope to have all in place by then. It will be nice to have the space and not take away from the Inn.
I also am seriously strategizing in my head on growing Thinkers. It is already a self sustaining little hosting, domain and design business. I would love to get it to the point of having a couple of staff, and take full advantage of the hospitality niche. It will not matter if it does not happen for another year but small steps are being made.
In order to have the “play money” to give Thinkers a safety net, I think getting the day spa (The Attic Day Spa) up and running is vital. It will also give Casey and I the extra cash to travel, and have help and make the Inn more fun than work. It will be three years in December and it would be very nice to be able to launch the spa at a third anniversary party. With is also the Inns tenth anniversary and the houses one hundred and twentieth anniversary.
Anyway as always these rambling are for me mainly to note the date and time of what is flowing through my head. First quarter of the Geelong V. Port Adelaide 2007 Grand Final is on. Sort of makes me sad to be away from my other home.
Oh and at some point we better tell Mum and Dad we intend on living with them for a year with our kids while they do to Bentleigh West Primary school for a year…no worries they read this, plus they have at least six years to get the house in order!
