So Casey and I are considering getting a new car. Here are some thought I would love some outside opinion on to help us make a decision.
The Pros;
- All of our cars are at least 10 years old
- Only the van can fit Laurens car seat for the next 6 months
- Go to one car insurance payment (we may get rid of all the other cars)
- New car, less maintenance costs
- More safety features
- More confidence in car to preform long road trips (Casey’s parents are moving to Kansas)
- We would get one car that could do everything we need. Like haul stuff (tow a trailer), move lots of people (looking at 7 seaters)
- More comfort and room
The Cons;
- Would mean a car loan
- Possible modification of carport to garage it nicely
- Just another expense
- The sort of cars we are looking at are bigger, but not beasts
- Lower MPG for bigger cars
The other consideration is to keep the VW Beetle or Miata for a “errand” car. The Miata is the cheapest to maintain, plus there is the upside of the club and parades, but then again it now has a big dent!
